give me the slang for lovesick

Let pour from my lips all things foolish and moony!

& let me find reflected in your eyes

something thicker than like

Fingernails dirtied and breath of liquor, perversion

Give me shallow breathing and shoulders twisting

pulling softly from your grip

to swallow cool air

and it feels like

there’s nobody else here

& my mind is fragmented and

distant

Removed so I sit in the pews and I stare

for I might photograph this moment in the lash-blink of my eye

Keep it under lock and key

diamond-encrusted and

Give me the slang for lovesick

and I’ll donate myself candidly

I’m nothing beneath the grip of your eye

I’m nothing before saxophone and

I have never lived

and tonight I will breathe

for the very first time
